Question 3

How did you get your name?

My mother wanted to call me the worst name in history :( , after her grandmother.
Thankfully I was born 10 days after Ramadan so I made her complete the month of Ramadan without having to break her fasting so she calls me "Wafa'" وفاء لاني وفيت معاها الشهر .
I don't know how to translate this in English, but it's something like "keeping her loyal to her habit of fasting in Ramadan" so I am loyal.

One of the main thing I like about myself is my name, simple, beautiful and not that spread.
I keep asking myself do i have something in my personality in my name? and that's a common wonder in Arabic. A few years ago a friend ask me with a pride " Did your family know that your will be loyal to them when they gave you that name" , I smile and hoped so.

*If you have any question to ask, feel free to do so :)

  7. Thanks for sharing, what a beautiful name!

I'm named of the Biblical Rebekka (that's the original spelling in the Greek Bible and what's used in Denmark) who was married to Isaac (Ishaq). The name comes from Ribhqah. It means to tie or secure. It is usually interpreted as either meaning to tie or snare men with her beauty, or, the one I prefer, tied securely to God.

I remember reading about Rebekka "Ribhqah" when I read the Bible, a very beautiful name for a very beautiful and strong woman.

    The meaning is amazing :)

...sorry for being late and lazy again.

i was given the name (naysan)by our dear friend yosef because he thought that that my writings and ideas pop out suddenly just like April showers,i liked it and adopted it.
as for my real name(suhair) i have no clue!!!

  10. Yeah my sisters and I are all named after beautiful and strong women in the Bible.

There's me, then there's Maria (Mariam / Mary) named for the mother of Jesus (Isa). My youngest sister is Rachel named for the wife of Jacob (Yakub) mother of Joseph (Yusef) and Benjamin. My parents also considered Miriam (sister of Moses (Musa) for my youngest sister).

If I'd been a boy my parents wanted to call me Benjamin (pronounced more like Benyamin in Danish) or Christopher (I hope they would've chosen Benjamin, I love that name).
